Our team of Primary Care Assistants support our practice team. In addition to assisting on reception, they have a responsibility for a number of tasks that our nurses used to do, eg contacting patients for some recalls; chasing up letters and results from hospital clinics; ordering supplies; restocking of rooms; linen management; giving smoking brief advice to patients; sending out welcome packs to new patients and mums of new babies; and going through the new patient questionnaire with new patients. The role is evolving and they are an integral part of our practice team.
